Quote from: WarpCanada on February 12, 2021, 09:34:44 AMI have a Yamaha guitalele as well and I love it.    It really does sound like a tiny classical guitar and a yuke loved each other very much.  I am glad you recorded it.

Thanks all on the song and Guilele comments....it will get more use now that I know what it can do for a song!

Warren, my Guilele is a Cordoba. I don't know much about it because I bought it on a whim, at a good price. It does have a solid spruce top and stays in tune fairly well. I was surprised that my condenser mic picked it up so well. I was sitting so I didn't put much thought in the mic placement. It was about 2 feet out, two feet above and angled down at the sound hole. Why? Because I was too lazy to set it up properly so I just used my vocal mic that was set up for standing vocals. Again I was quite happy that it picked up so well and without any eqing, just some added reverb.

Always great to hear ya sing one Farrell. You sound as good as ever and the harmonies were sweet.
Loved the tone of that little guilele. Unique and worked great in this tune.
Hats off to you and Lorne for a real nice collab!

Ah. I hadn't heard of this Cordoba one.  It looks lovely though and unlike the Yamaha it has a piezo pickup.  The yamaha Gitalele is about $99 Canadian, and the Cordoba is $269 canadian, so I would imagine you might be getting overall a nicer instrument with a more resonant spruce top.

On second listen I am hit by the lyrics. They feel like something a lot of us feel about living right now in 2021.

An interesting and timely song Farrell.  I like the uniqueness and laid back feel, especially in your vocals, yet full of lyrical meaning.
Not to sound like a broken record,  but I  dig everything you post, and this is no exception.
Nice work, both of you.
