We wrote what I would describe as a "country environmental climate change" song......a bit of an odd combination but what the heck.  Drop D acoustic, electric, bass drum and vocals.....pretty basic.  Hope you'll give it a listen.

Mother Nature Cries – Mark Porro, Vance Grazio  c 2021

The sound of rolling thunder, startles man and beast alike
In a moment's time the sky lit up, scorching earth with a single lightning strike
When the sun broke free at the break of day, all the crops I had were washed away aw haw

Was it a warning from the heavens, a sign of the impending apocalypse?
Or a loss of nature's balance, that was forcing all of nature's scales to tip?
Retribution has its place in life as I can attest just ask my wife all right

chorus 1
Mother Nature cries, well she cries for the fools/morons down below
Mother Nature cries, she can flood your ass or bury you in snow
This ain't no lie, Mother Nature cries.

Well the ocean's gotten warmer, and a clear sky is a hazy shade of gray
While a forest can burn to the ground in just the matter of a single day
Shooting tons of crap into the air, while the one in charge doesn't seem to care oh yeah

Chorus 2
Mother Nature cries, well she cries for the humans on the run
Mother Nature cries, as we stare down the barrel of her gun
This ain't no lie, Mother Nature cries.

Repeat chorus 1

As I brace for the next hurricane, tornado flood or wildfire there will be
Not a place where you can hide from it if you live inland or by the angry sea
If there is no lesson to be learned, we'll end up one day drowned or burned all right

Repeat chorus 2
"Play because you love it. Don't worry about if it will ever make any money, just understand that playing is an end in itself, and you play music, it will make your life better. And, don't worry about being a star, don't worry about making money, worry about nothing, just sit down with your guitar and let it speak to you and that will make your life better. It will bring beauty into your life. It's a great thing to do."     ---- David Crosby

Very well done. A well constructed piece. The instrumentation is spot on for the genre. The lyrics are straight to the point, and the vocals deliver the message flawlessly. I especially like the guitar fills and the harmonies on the chorus.

Thanks for sharing.

I like EcoCountry as a sub-genre.   Is your board-alias a reference to Bruce Cockburn's somewhat recent 33rd album  of that title?   I am a huge fan of Bruce Cockburn.

nice catchy song and i especially love the bass line moving around the bass chords.... it makes it sound much more complicated than just the 3 or 4 chord progression I hear... and i love the twhack, thwack, thwack of the drums... singing is good too... and is that a Les Paul on the lead?  kind of sounds like one...
o yeah and I love this line...."Retribution has its place in life as I can attest just ask my wife all right"

Really good stuff. Rattles along with a cool train-like rhythm and I love the country-rock feel of it. Reminds me a lot of Stephen Stills and the first Buffalo Springfield album - especially those lead licks. The chord change at 'This ain't no lie, Mother Nature cries' is absolutely superb!

Sheer class. What a great track & performance.

A great sounding song and the vocals/harmonies are top notch! I like the way it rolls along effortlessly. An outlaw country sort of style...ala Waylon and Willie. A very well put together song!

"Eco Country"...a new genre! This baby rolls along like a tumbleweed on a windy day.

Good vocals share the lyric..and some are pretty funny.

Mother Nature may cry... but she will ALWAYS have the last laugh...     Good tune guys..

Excellent stuff! I really like the core combination of that lovely snare thwack, the rhythm and the lead vocal and harmony. It really has a great feel to it, it's superbly recorded (I really like the way you handled the little lead breaks), and the lyrics carry a powerful message. I've never heard of Eco Country, but I like what I hear in this track.
