Eric Weissberg, missing in 2020, is the reason why I knew bluegrass even before I knew it was a genre, even before listening to Skaggs, Rice or Norman Blake. We were so passionate at the time that we tried to learn impossible tunes like this one, where I play guitar and my friend Guido the famous banjo (we had an acoustic band here back in the 90s, almost history). So it's both a sweet remembering and a grateful tribute to Eric Weissberg ...

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!! That is some hot playing. I love bluegrass & I love the sound of a banjo running at full tilt. It's absolutely amazing :-)

OULALA!  (Oolala)...happy to have a good banjo player on Songcrafter...after the hyper-known and slow introduction ...I was waiting for you in the second part much faster and  ;D ;) ...hat's off to you it's super well played  Congratulations for your friend Guido

When will a piece of blue grass be made in collaboration with my dobro?

(...And yes, in France we love bluegrass since the 70's ...)
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

So fun always to hear this piece. You guys did a nice job on it. Since i live in the Appalachians and do alot of canoeing, i remember so well when the film (Deliverance) came out. The "dueling" segment was and still is the best. A bit confused here tho...is this a recording you made back in the day with Guido? Who played what on this nice version?
I could never understand the title, unless the original version (which maybe i never heard) is just two banjos?
