Don't tell them who it is! :) I really enjoyed this and how you played it out. A great tune!

Well done here Ray.......the story made me feel sorry for the old comedian. You presented it beautifully with your guitar and voice.

Goodbye to the Glory Days. You captured the comedian's decent so poignantly. Guitar and vocals..and great writing.
A sad tale, as reality often is. Nice post Ray.

Ray, this is superb. Beautifully sung and played and the lyrics are full of emotion and sadness. It's a great subject for a song and you handled it really well. You create the perfect images of the situation and the emotions underneath it.

My holidays as a kid were always the same: two weeks every August (the same two weeks) at a holiday camp. It wasn't a big chain holiday camp like Butlins, but the vibe was the same (only a bit rougher round the edges!). That's how I know this is so wonderfully observed.

Quote from: Greeny on January 26, 2021, 03:02:51 AMAnd we had to regularly stay there (in my case the Bognor one) to 'take in' the experience. It was horrific. More like a gulag. With chips. Gulag and chips. I still have a traumatic reaction to the unclean chalet with dirty bloody underpants on the floor, smell of smoke, and oppressive air of desperation.
Hey, that's my childhood holidays you are talking about there....... ;D

Another oustanding story with such great words , your music paints a incredible picture for the listener, you are gonna have to tell us or hint who it was to put us out of our misery , i to have worked the circuit in the northwest of England and have seen comedians die on stage, they deserve every penny they get as far as i am concerned , always a treat to here your compositions and the storys within them , perfectly recorded and balanced , expertly performed . brilliant stuff
