In the chaos of a stormy night
My ship blown way off course
Your beauty swept towards my heart
Like the virtual Trojan horse
The morning sky was charcoal and chrome
Singing drunkenly as we staggered home
Now you wanna stroll outa here sober
All regrets and remorse
The virtual Trojan horse

No beating to submission
Just a shrewd and subtle force
Your beauty crept into my heart
Like the virtual Trojan horse
All that dream-catcher spiritual stuff
How you thought that you were doing it tough
All parodied by the cupidity
You were so happy to endorse
The virtual Trojan horse

You had me fooled. You had me conned
You had me clutching at your straws
And that beauty kept inside my heart
The virtual Trojan horse
Sometimes I can't help myself
I swear I can't help myself
Sometimes I speak in riddles
In clichés and metaphors
But you're the virtual Trojan horse.

Nice and mellow with a harp thrown in too love it and I will give you 5 stars for pulling off the All parodied by the cupidity verse I love the lyrics but that one line I think would be a tripping point that might have to be redone over and over if it was me
Well done brother

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Great tune Ray. Lyrics to make one think. "The morning sky was charcoal and chrome"..my favorite line.
Gotta love the key of E. So dark. So somber.. Wonderful sound from the acoustic. The harp was pure icing on this tunecake. Excellent production. Vocals mixed in perfectly. Really enjoyed this one!

Real nice words and voice Ray! Your acoustic is projecting a huge sound and the subtle but growling harmonica fills set the perfect melancholy mood. Good work man!

deep stuff....hmmm.. really good lyrics...really make you think...you could sing about anything and it would sound great so I am not going to comment on your vocals... to me the lyrics are quite the mystery...but you give enough to kind of get it if one thinks about it a bit...and that is exactly what some of us would do....think about it...and wonder...so that creates interest...marvelous...

That guitar sounded great right from the off. So rich & full. And then such beautiful, mournful melodies & chord changes with the plaintive harmonica just adding to the bitter-sweet atmosphere. This is seriously wonderful songwriting. Classic Gordon Lightfoot / Tim Hardin stuff. Love both the title and the lyric too. Sounds even better 2nd time. It's a stunner. And a lesson about how 'full' a guitar can sound, so that drums and bass aren't needed.
