Brilliant version Hook. I love the dynamics here and the contrast between the clean ukes and the more distorted sounds works really well. Great guitar solo and nice drums as well, well done!

I was looking forward to this. Saw it got posted but haven't been able to listen till today.

Really, really atmospheric. The way it builds then falls again - musically and vocally - is so good. Your vocal on this is bloody superb. As is that beautifully emotional solo.

It's excellent. Such a fine interpretation that finds a new direction and freshness.

Really enjoyed that Hook... that distorted guitar sound against the Uke worked really well. Great vocal too - a very good version of a great tune.

To me Rik was to the Cars what Roger Waters was to Pink Floyd and Ben Orr (vocally) was more of the David Gilmour....
IMHO the Cars first two albums could match up with just about any band first two ever....but hey, that is just me....

I couldn't have said that better, the analogy is correct from my viewpoint. And cool tune brother, loved it!

Quotebut the guitar solo was the highlight for me
nice cover with a lot of instrument, well in place I like the first notes in chord that fixes the attention
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

John and I were just discussing in admiration for your fearlessness. Uke on this? Doesn't look right on paper, but then you Hookerize it and make everything your own.

Super enjoyable listen. Loved the solo.

Rock on

Pete

Pete, since I wrote this I went back and listened to several cars concerts from later on and man, I was blown away by their newer stuff... I think the producers didn't do them many favors in the studio and their live play showed their true side...they rocked those songs..

You did a great job of one of my all time best songs ever , guitar solo is blisteringly well performed , you have put a lot of work and thought into the track and it pays out in ACES
