it's a tribute to Tommy Emmanuel, Tommy Knox, Julie London et son guitariste Barney Kessel, Eric Clapton...et Jacob collier  Ouch!

After listening to Tommy Emmanuel's version of Blue moon in finguerpicking (magnificent) I wanted to play it... but difficult, a lot of work... so I fell back on Julie London's standard jazz version.
As I do it all the time, I did a search on SC to see if there had been covers of this song before...and I found one!... another Tommy's : (Fenderbender)
Still in my investigations, I'm looking on YT if by chance Eric Clapton would have made a version of this song,...and he did! ...with Rod Stewart...
...and that's where it gets fun/delirious: last night I dreamt that I was doing a collaboration on this song with Clapton and Tommy.
So by the magic of the sound craft means we have now (for me it's reaper) I made a mix with Tommy and Eric.

here is the cutting of the piece

intro JP guitar, telecaster HB with an amp jazz guitar rig set
the intro and the first verse sung and played by Tommy
the sung and played version of JP (based on Julie London's version, for the guitar part)
Eric Clapton's solo (in the version with Rod Stewart), with my acoustic nylon guitar
reprise and final of the song by JP

...and as I am in the middle of listening to this wonderful young musician that is Jacob Collier, I piled up choir voices...

Thank you Bluesberry

It was a pleasure to play again, even virtually with Tommy.

What a fascinating idea JP! In fact, it's quite crazy but it works really well. Your parts are excellent and you did a really great job pulling all the different elements together. Bravo!

I found this quite emotional - for all kinds of reasons. It's superbly done. Those massed vocal harmonies are so lovely, and the jazziness of the guitar is very, very cool.
