Based on a true story.... from the heart... I don't think I can do conventional.  When I try I lose the spirit of the song/story...but when it's real... it's blemished... because I am blemished...and I have learned to accept this....so for whoever might like this...it's for you...blessings!
1/17/21 this is a remix...the original is posted on page 2

Out in the cold, I'm shivering and I'm old.  Who will come and warm me?  Give me shelter from the coming storm?
Will I be cast aside?  No better than a fields manure?  Will all I failed to do or say, come to haunt my current stay?
Or will the solace come at last?  By the deliverer's mighty grasp?  All my hopes and dreams, vanished like a ship at sea?
No, he will save me.  Yes, He will save me.  From all of evils grasp.  He will come at last.  Save me from the darkness.

Out in the cold, I'm shivering and I'm old.  Who will come and warm me?  Give me shelter from the coming storm?  Will I be cast aside?  No better than a gutter on a house?
Will all I failed to do or say?  Come to haunt my current stay?  Or will the solace come at last? by my deliverers mighty grasp?  or are all my hopes and dreams?  vanished like a ship at sea?

Music can be such great therapy..for you, for me, for everyone.

This is a prayer song. A healing song. It floats down the river on a raft of music. Emotional vocals say it all.

Nice job Stephen...

Fine job, Stephen!! Somehow this takes me back to the 90's...this could be from 120 Minutes or Alternative Nation. On these shows were played music like this. I really like this!

Great stuff Steve. The drums are the standout for me on this, great work, they drive the song and add a lot of interest to it. The bass is really good as well, it complements the drums superbly and builds a great platform for the vocals. Your vocals seem to be getting better all the time, and you recorded them really well.

This is a great song. My only suggestion would be to add a bit more guitar by making the rhythm work wider in the stereo field, because I felt that nice guitar work was getting a bit lost. If you could spread the rhythm guitar by doubling it or using a stereo effect, it would add a bit more without getting in the way of the vocals. But it's only a minor thing that a nitpicker like me would pick up on.... ;)

A cool song Stephan.....good words and melody! I really like the tone and amount of over drive you have on the rhythm guitar. I read Nigel's suggestion about spreading out the rhythm guitar in the stereo field. I use this technique a lot and it does bring more depth to the guitar track while leaving space for the vocal. Great work on this song!
