Wow - I almost missed this. This is a VERY tidy job, Pinedog. I think you've more than captured the NY spirit. The guitar and those little harmonic touches are just great. And then comes that big blistering solo. Your vocals feel very at home here, and they're not a great deal different to the great man himself! Neil Young definitely worked to his strengths vocally, as we all do. I'll never consider myself a singer - I just use what I have and carefully choose notes / ranges that won't give me huge problems when I try to hit them. I've improved since being on here though, as certain collaborations have forced me out of my comfort zone. Anyway, I'm rambling. You can play, sing, and this is a splendid piece of work.

Thanks for checkin' it out Wiley, Mark, and Tim...you guys are too kind. I liked the song and it's so simple to play..there's like 4 or 5 easy chords in the whole song and as usual, Neil writes lyrics with great imagery and emotion. This song gave me the courage i needed to tee off on my first cd of originals. Bass playing is brand new to me but it's getting better. 'Bout the time i get all this together i'll be kickin' the bucket   ::)

Great guitar solo there at the end!!!  Really good job with this song, another one of your gems, you've got a real nice comfort zone going on there.
