I Want To Breathe

I really like how cleverly and artistically this was conceived and executed.  Made me stop and enjoy taking a slow deep breath. (Kind of like when reading Dune gave me more appreciation for a cool glass of water). Nice job of working with an unusual combination of musical tools!

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

Thanks for pointing me to this, StephenM.

I love accordion, and am frequently frustrated by GarageBand's lame accordion sounds. I may hit you up for an accordion collaboration.

One of my favorite Elvis Costello songs is "The Long Honeymoon," which has a beautiful accordion part. I read later that the keyboardist, Steve Nieve, doesn't really know how to play accordion, and they recorded it by putting the accordion flat on a table – accordion CPR.

Quote from: Elvis CostelloIn fact it took three of us to execute this part. Laying the instrument on the table, Steve played the keyboard, while one of us worked the bellow, and a third party held the beast in place.

So if you can play accordion by yourself – even a little – pat yourself on the back.

I love the energy of this song. It's quirky and serious at the same time. A hard combination to pull off well.

interesting way to play the instrument... and it's good to know that there are highly successful artists doing whatever it takes to get the sound they want... that is also the incredible thing about collaboration... there is a special power in that..  I think I could do better with an accordion with keys on it... they are big money though...thanks for the good words on the song..

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away
