Wrote this in the late 70's. Recorded finally 25 years later. Old pal and bandmate James on harp.
Just re-discovered it.

A great song and really well recorded.

Unfortunately, it doesn't qualify for PhotoFest for several reasons.

All festival submissions must be new recordings made specifically for the fest.

All festival submissions must be performed entirely by one or more members of Songcrafters. I assume James is not a member?

The idea of PhotoFest is to first find a photograph that inspires you, and then write a song based on that photograph. We don't want people to write a song and then find a photo that fits it. The whole point of PhotoFest is that the song comes from the photo, not the other way around.

Guilty on all counts. Forgive my blunder. Should have researched the criteria a bit more thoroughly.
I like the challenge tho..pic first, then write and record. I may be back! Thanks 64.

For the past "while" now I have been skimming off the top in Originals and glad I caught you. As usual, an excellent recording with great singing and playing!

You know how to write a song! Great to hear something from you

Damn this is just great... I could listen to this kind of stuff all night. Just so well done, touches of harmonica are cool. Loved it, great song.

This is a great song and it inspired me to work on some honky tonk piano chops,  the sort you'd find if you walked in some place where the floor is covered in sawdust and peanut shells.

Ever since I mentioned my grandfather (Roamin' Pete) in another thread, I've been really feeling I have a lot of Country Music in my soul.

It qualifies though as a great song.... so maybe not a photograph thingy but dang nice song....  Nazareth years ago wrote a song by this title...quite different though...  that little keyboard thing at the end is great...

Thanks Mark...good to hear from you again. Been awhile, i know.

Hey Ray..thanks for the kind words. Old pal James blows a great harp. We had a blues band. He played sax too. Good times.

Appreciate your enthusiastic comments Mike. I guess "Americana" is my main genre. Thanks for listening.

WC...nothin' cooler than honkytonk piano. Love that stuff. Country music sorta seeps into you..at least the old school, bluegrassy type stuff does for me. Modern country just somehow leaves me cold. Over produced, formula music to my old ears... but then i'm just a crabby old codger maybe stuck in the past. Still love listening to old Hank Sr. Some great new up and coming bluegrass stars tho like Billy Strings.

Stephen...Never caught the Nazareth tune. Thanks for the compliment. I got alot of mileage out of that cheap little Casio keyboard in hindsight :-))
