There's something extra emotional about that little bit of banjo you added in. I feel a bit guilty for not knowing too much about John Prine as this sounds lovely. Beautifully done.

Thanks for listening Hillary!

Mike..i thought the banjo recorded strangely. Couldn't get much "presence"...sounds like it came from an old record..which is ok i guess. The song is retrospective so i left it in. No banjo in John's version. He wasn't a virtuoso guitar player or phenomenal singer... it was mostly about his lyrics to me. Great songwriter.

Thanks so much Dave. Great hearing from you after so many years. Sounds like you hit a patch of bumpy road in Life. Glad you got thru it. As they say, "What doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger". Git playin' again. That's my plan.

Fantastic version Pine. When the news of John Prine's death came through the wires, i think i listened to only his stuff for a full week. He was big hero of mine and from what i knew of hime a mighty fine soul too. I need to get my finger out and do something for him. Bravo.

Wonderful cover Pine.  I think Mr. Prine would be very happy with this tribute.

The wisps of an accent you included in your vocal reflect time and setting of the song.  Well done.

Fine harmonies, guitar, and thanks for adding the licks on banjo.

A good record, already downloaded.

Hadn't heard this song in years and you more than did it justice.  Nice tight harmonies interwoven with your acoustic and banjo.  Loved it!!
"Play because you love it. Don't worry about if it will ever make any money, just understand that playing is an end in itself, and you play music, it will make your life better. And, don't worry about being a star, don't worry about making money, worry about nothing, just sit down with your guitar and let it speak to you and that will make your life better. It will bring beauty into your life. It's a great thing to do."     ---- David Crosby

"Prine by Pine" sounds great.  I echo the comments that the banjo adds some magic. I would almost just drop the synthetic vocal harmony part, or lower the volume a lot, to make it sound more natural throughout.
