Fender MiM Strat, Jazz Bass, a random drum track, vocals, and various pedals. Still in an angry / slightly nihilistic with this one, but working on more gentle things too.

stars and hairpin bends
and an ice pick through the heart my friend
this world: a dumpster fire
stand around it in your black attire
so squeaky clean
but i'm mystified at where you've been
demolition time
the wrecking ball inside your mind

i wanna see
the flowers opening in real-time

stare at screen
as books are torn to smithereens
by eagle claws

i wanna see
the flowers opening in real-time

are you ready to bloom?
in asylum rooms

i wanna see
the flowers opening in real-time

it's not a crime... real-time
to a ripple of polite applause

Ferryman_1957

Ooh, just love those rhythm guitars. Wonderful sounds, great playing and lovely chord sequences, I love the change on the second line and the way you change things on the "are you ready to bloom" section. Really punchy and wide in the stereo image as well. Enjoying the angry feel, the lyrics create stark imagery without being too obvious, leaving holes for the imagination to fill out.

I would have preferred the vocals a little louder in the mix and the nice lead lines around 2:08 get a little lost for me, but that doesn't detract from this being another superb song from you. You get much more than a ripple of polite applause for this one.

Johnny McAleer

A great sound to this one. Agree with Ferryman that those excellent vocals are getting lost a little in the mix but to no great detriment overall. Nice tight sound, well played and recorded. Nicely done, J.

First off...gr8 song...I didnt read the words at first...you routinely have a conflict in your songs...happy sounds with darker lyrics... but for my ears happy wins... I can certainly understand the sarcasm...scepticism... as a songwriter you are superb...imo...and you are an excellent singer and musician...bass lines are killer... interesting sounds... gr8 mix... I like the way you tell stories like in building 11.

Jeez, some very interesting chord changes going on in this song. The lyrics are great and incisive. I get a bit of a Cure feel from this number, both lyrically and musically. Great work; well done.

Great chord changes in this one Tim! In fact I'm not sure I recognize some of those chords but they fit so well together. Great vocals and words as always. You bass is always on the move and I like that!
