When I make a cover, I always do a little search on SC search.
..and for Across the universe, I found only three publications:

-one from JP My Idol is Jahia , instrumental at the Weissenborn/steel guitar (I don't remember having done it! Halzeimer would diagnose Alstone...)
- a very surprising version, punk adaptation by Fuzzface in 2010
- the (by far my favorite) version of Facemask (Rob Burns) for me one of SC's hits.
...without being a fundamentalist, I prefer covers that respect the melody as it was written by the authors.

As a tribute to our late friend Rob, I put the 3 bars of his introduction at the beginning of my version

Following an advice from two friends who are much more competent than me in recording, I reviewed the volume levels and the volume of the master was, according to them, over saturated due to an abuse of the limiter/compressor in the master.

How do you get a sufficient output level without saturating the master's output level? I would be curious to have your opinions

Aah one of my favourite songs of all time. I was addicted to this when it was first released. You did a great job here JP, the harmonies in particular are lovely - similar to the original but different (in a good way). Some really nice guitar work in there as well. Bravo.

j'ai refait une nouvelle version en reprenant les sons de guitares , le traitement de la voix(avec des plug ins abbey road de Waves et le mastering
ce qui donne une versionpeut etre un peu plus proche de l'étoile polaire

et du coup une video en reprenant bien sur l'hommage a Rob Burns (Facemask)
