I got a Steely Dan vibe too: a sophisticated kind of blues. Really enjoyable performance, and the production is immaculate. The bridge adds a nice element. And I love that two-chord piano groove.

Great work John. Beautifully composed and arranged, some nice twists in there as well. The keys are fab and I also really liked the drum programming (I assumed it's midi programming rather than loops...). Really nice vocal performance, I'm glad you captured "the" take. Another impressive piece of work, and also a great listen (which is probably more important).

I didn t believe you could do the standard 12 bars even if you wanted to LoL ! That's way more interesting, pure 'JBlues'. I really love how you move the harmony, way peculiar ! The arrangement is perfect and I loved all the sounds you used. the garritan brass are fantastic! and what about the drums and the piano sound instead?
Bravissimo and classy , ever and ever

WOW what a composition , i must admit when i read your post i did not think the bridge would work , but it did perfectly , never heard that done before at all , it was great, put a little Jazz spin on the song which spiced it up , your musical skills are quiet something and enjoyed the song John , great stuff

Lovely John. Was looking forward to hear your take on a blues format. You definitely give it a sophisticated, quirky edge. Great production too.
