I realize it is a bit early...but I spent alot of time on these and as Mr. Higgins says, they are what they are.  I am going to post two versions.  The first I recorded second and did it with a metronome.  To be very honest I could not play it on guitar at first because I was so used to the timing of the way I had been playing this, I had to practice it for quite a while to get the timing down.  Two tracks of Harley Benton guitar (Paul Reed copy) with single and double coil...one clean, one distorted...using my Boss ME-25 guitar pedal... the bass played through the same....Drums are played on my Alesis Nitro kit...I recorded the guitars, drums, bass on my Zoom R24 unit...in 2 sections.  Two seperate songs and then blended as heard....then I added the keys and bells off something on Bandlab (daw), first time I tried that.

TRADITIONAL SACRED MUSIC WITH LYRICS AND SINGING FOR THOSE THAT DON'T WANT TO HEAR THAT!
This one I recorded first with no metronome...I have been playing around with the music at Christmas time for a number of years and it took me a while to get it.  I learned something though doing this.  Steve the guitar player has a much different sense of timing than Steve the drummer.  On this when I came to play the bass and drums I had to really pay attention so that I could get close to the same signature of time.  My guitar timing was no where close to constant.  In a way I like the result because I had to pause to give space to allow things to get in synch, especially on drums.  The voice parts I recorded with the Zoom R24 on board mics....on tracks 7 and 8 there are mics that can only go to those tracks.  They really work well... so this is stereo voice because I used both at the same time.  It is so easy to use.  I love to sing but at my age it is harder than ever to hit notes, stay in tune etc...but what I lack in ability I make up for in enthusiasm....

I really enjoyed the instrumental. Superb guitar sound and some really impressive drums - I like your snare work. Sounds great, I like the keys additions and you put it together very nicely.

The vocal version has a charm all of its own. Like you say, the timing is a bit "variable" but it does make it atmospheric with the pauses and the slower tempo. I think you did really well to pull it off! The vocals work for me, although the overall feel is intriguing, not as "jolly" as the instrumental version, almost "doom" carols if you like  ;D

As always, you are innovative and creative in whatever you do. Keep up the good work!

Cool recording with time changes - well done recording this.
I guess this was a single take - it sounded like it. Impressive.

These are great medleys and the time you spent you perfecting them clearly shows. It was well worth the effort! I can't decide which one I prefer so I'll take another listen to both...Nicely done - J

The instrumental was my choice of the two but they are both done well. I suppose it is time to start getting into the Holiday mood. Thanks for giving me a lick start on that!

It's never too early for Christmas songs - I've got 2 on the go  ;D

I enjoyed them both which was interesting as the overall feel was very different.

Well worth the effort.
