Happy Accident (single take, original demo, vocal and nylon string classical guitar)

It could happen
On one of those days when I really love
being me
It could happen

Some days I really love being
me
Versus say being someone else
Some days I suspect I still prefer
Being alive and wondering about
the next happy accident.

Cos if had cancer or Corona
and I died then
People who love me would be really really sad.
And I would never write the song
that makes me bigger than Bruce Springsteen
And everyone would want to know which
Brand of Guitar Picks I like

You could go on tour with me, and
we would open for Julien Baker and Pedro the Lion,
and we would get drunk on micro-brewed midwestern beer,
If you learn to play drums you can be in my band

It could happen.
A happy accident.
A happy accident.

Ray of sunshine
Shall we dance

Ray of sunshine
Shall we dance

So my voice is wobbly, and here it is without any second takes or attempts to improve it.  I also stumbled a bit trying to get Bruce Springsteen out  there.

This is how I sound when I do my first take of a song.   I am trying to get over how critical I am of how not-very-good-singer material I am.  So here we are.   Hello internet.

I might do a more polished version, but I kinda wanted to put the wobbly vocal first take me out there on the internet.

Hello Warren, I love this song - it's quite moving!

The slip on Bruce Springsteen is real and endearing and you have nothing to worry about with your voice either.

Get it out there and be proud.

you sing pretty good from what I can hear... and really if you think about it birds just sing...they don't really know I don't think if they sing well or not...and they sing because they have a song...studies that have been done say that people who sing live significantly longer lives than those that don't...something to think about...
I like the theme of the song here..

This has a charm all of its own. I think the lyrics are quite wonderful, there's some great lines in there, and it's performed in an up close and personal way. Your vocals get a bit lost in the first part of the song for me, and I don't think you need to worry about them at all. Create your own style and go with it I say. The guitar work is nice and melodic, there's certainly a lot that you could do with this if you wanted. But it's really enjoyable as it is.

I think you have a great voice and a great song to go with it. Sing out loud and proud. Don't be afraid to get your work out there. Well done  :) 8)

Yeah, so I think it was a great idea to try and capture the spirit of the moment in a live take like this. It grabs the attention... the listener is waiting, listening and waiting to hear how the story progresses as we know it's a real story and it sounds as such. Sometimes the harder we try, and the more takes we record, it never captures the essence as much as a genuine live take such as this.
