I have been busy with a home remodeling project involving 500 sqft of taking everything out, ripping out old carpet and mating, and hundreds of tiny staples...through it though I find time to practice drums, guitar, and bass.... I jam with some of you!!! Ha!
I haven't had time to write anything new but this song is not that old and I want to post it... when I wrote it my wife said "is that about me?"  I started laughing... if you listen to the words I said it can't possibly be about you.... really it is kind of about my ex wife...although I didn't start writing that way...for me songwriting generally starts with guitar, then bass, then drums....then lyrics and vocals... I did get quite creative with the vocals actually.. the lyrics are a bit repetitive to emphasize a point...really, I suppose this song could be about my ex wife and others I have perceived as leeches in my life... just wanting to kind of suck the life out of me...so it is a song of protest...just to blow off steam...and it is a bit funny too...I will post the lyrics shortly...
Why you at my door?  I don't wanna see you no more.
I ain't got time for the misery, none of those bad memories,
all the crap you bring to me, I ain't gonna do it no more,
I ain't, I ain't, I ain't gonna do it no more
I done got off the floor and I ain't gonna do it no more...

Get on up, get on out, take your laundry and get on out
get on up, get on out, take your crabs and all your flab and get on out
(and don't let the screen door hit you on the butt on the way out either)

Why you at my door?  I'm not gonna see you no more.
I ain't got time for your misery, none of your bad memories,
all the crap you bring to me, I ain't gonna do it no more,
I ain't, I ain't, I ain't gonna do it no more
I done got off the floor and I ain't gonna do it no more...

Get on up, get on out, take your laundry and get on out
get on up, get on out, take your crabby friends and all your flabby friends
and get on out..yeah get on...take all your family with you too, just haning out
mooching on me, smooching on me....

Fine song and lyrics, Stephen! I liked this right from the start, and there's really good tone on your guitar, is it a preset of BR-1600? I got a nice hippy feel with your song :)

Ripping out old carpet, that's a job!! I've done that long time ago ;D

Love this! Can totally relate to the theme being a 3 time loser (of love)  myself.....  Anyway, besides the original vocal work, I dig the (sort of) conflicting lead lines that dramatize the theme of the song.  Too cool!

Love the opening riff , there is a lot of people in the world who can totally relate to the theme (me included) , and i am glad you can put the  energy it into words and express yourself in music , as usual with your music you put 110% into the playing and emotion , which is what music is all about , super playing of all the instruments and vocals great stuff

Dunny  (good luck with the project)

Loving this one Steve. The guitar sounds are really good, you really used the BR presets well (I find some of them are really good). The opening riff is an absolute belter, really draws you in, and like Trev says, I like the guitars duelling for space. I enjoyed the multiple vocals, I was listening on headphones and it sounds like you were all around me.... A heartfelt protest in the lyrics, I hope you are past those things in your life now!

Best of luck with the project, I've spent the last several weeks moving house so know what happens when other things take over music time!

A cool Classic Southern Rock sound here Stephan! The opening guitar riff kicks it off in grand style. It let's the listeners know they are in for a rockin' ride. Way to go with calling out all those crabby friends and leeches in the lyric. Some fine guitar playing as well!

A real 60's sound to this, and some straight to the point lyrics. Cool tune.
There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.
