It's not common on SC, but a bit of classical music is good for the ears.

I wanted to do this Bach prelude after hearing Bert Ferroach's beautiful arrangement for Dobro on YT.
I sent him an email and he was kind enough to send me the tablature of his arrangement as well as the MP3 Bass/piano file.

...and as there was still time to publish for the October festival, good listening friends...

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

A unique arrangement. I wasn't familiar with this specific prelude, so I gave it a listen first. This works really well.
There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

I have always loved Bach. From my early violin playing days, concerto's in A and D minor, and a Partita for my grade 8. This music touches your soul.

Well, all I can say is that I am amazed and in awe. This is beautiful. Who'd have thought that a slide guitar would add so much and touch the sky.

Thank you for this.

Beautifully played though I have not heard this particular prelude before. Old J.S. would be smiling down on this one. You play very beautifully; bravo.

Well done on this JP. The idea of putting down some slide guitar on a piece by Bach is really imaginative. I was watching a Rick Beato video (a good channel he has) on "what makes Bach great" recently. He was way ahead of his time apparently with note and melody choices, some of which wouldn't reappear in music till about 150 years later. Anyway, great job and it has a little bit of that haunting quality, appropriate for the time of year.

it's true...I hope I won't have any trouble with the Bach fundamentalists...with the caricature of the friend JS

Thank you Mike

it's true I'm afraid that this melancholy prelude is the Christmas carol for many of us in the world, whereas JS has made Christmas carols so joyful.
