This has been in the works for awhile (88 tracks recorded for 7 parts)!  Also changed keys 3 times.  ???

A little about the process if anyone cares. I usually record a couple takes of an instrument and pick the best and/or fix any mistakes with a little cut and pasting between takes. This song started with rhythm guitar, piano, EP, bass, drums vocals. I never could decide which of the double takes to use so used then all. Panned the guitar, piano, and EP parts out to suit. Added bass and drums and am still fighting with my lame vocals which also is dual to help fill it out and pretend I'm staying on some sort of key.  :o

BTW, I'm open to any suggestions, offers to do any parts better, etc.  Just having fun with it!

Gnats From Another Dimension - 7/2020 (c) K.J.Hill
---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Verse (1)
I've got these gnats from another dimension

They're causing me all kinds of con-tention

A swing and a miss they simply disappear

Unless I get lucky and they end up a smear
---------------------------------------------------------------------
They taunt me, tease me, deceive me too
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Chorus (1)
They get in my face, Then phase out of place

They come and they go,  From where I do not know

They invade my space,  Just get off my case
-------------------------------------------------------------------
You swat them away - Then they're back to play
 ------------------------------------------------------------------
Verse (2)
I've got these gnats from another dimension

They're coming back wanting even more attention

What do you want, only games of chance?

Maybe you just need me to watch you dance
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Test me, stress me, what more can I do?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Chorus (2)
It's like they know,  I'll put on a show

Trying to knock them down,  Their best game in town

Don't matter their size,  They just want the prize
---------------------------------------------------------------------
First they're here,  Then they disappear
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Lead
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Verse (3)
I've got these gnats from another dimension

They act like they're at some kind of convention

Leave me be while I'm eating you tease

Then we can play as I promise to please
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Test me, stress me, through and through
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Chorus (3)
They'll find me today,  Then just all go away

But they will come back,  To go on the attack

Because they're so small,  I must stop them all
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh where did they go,  I really want to know

No suggestions for improvement Hardlock because I think it's perfect as is! Your double tracked vocals sound a bit sinister which fits the vibe of the song and lyric well. That's a snappy lead guitar solo you've placed in there. Overall it's a great mix, considering all those tracks you had to contend with. Those pesky gnats can be...well pesky!

Really like this, great lyrics. The arrangement sounds pretty much spot on to my ears. That's a tasty guitar solo too, love it.

Thanks for the good words everyone!

Quote from: Oldrottenhead on October 28, 2020, 06:34:15 PMI hope you meant gnats. lol.

Also thanks James for reminding me that I'm a horible horrible speller..... :o  I think I fixed all the errors but can't seem to change the title of the song's spelling shown even though I re-uploaded the file with the right title?

Also found the lyrics out of sorts so fixed that as well.

Very cool, great fun and sounds like a holiday in Scotland.......

Really enjoyed this. It's got a very nice feel, the guitar work is great and I think you made the best of your vocals. Like Farrell said, I liked the semi-spoken sinister feel of the vocals, and the way you recorded them works well. Very nice job indeed on this one!

I liked this right from the start! Everything has put well together, and so well played and sung. Top class production, too.

You need to change it on the Tag line when you export it for the song player to show.

Everything sounds great to me, very enjoyable!

The player gets the song title and artist name from the MP3 file's ID3 metadata tags, if available. If the tags are missing, then it will use the filename. It's always best to fill in the ID3 metadata tags, as you have done in this case. If you want to correct the spelling in the tags, you need to edit them using a suitable program. For instance, you can load your MP3 file into Audacity, then select "Metadata..." from the Edit menu to open the metadata tag editor. Of course, once the tags are corrected, you'll have to re-export your MP3 file from Audacity to save them, then re-attach the MP3 file to your message (remove the old one by un-checking it, save message, modify message again and attach new file).
