I appologize in advance as I havent researched a solution on my own as of yet, havent had much time to slow down this weekend...late night recording my buddys' band...but Ive been pondering this most of the day.
I filled the card up with the bands first set...it surprised me as it was the only (stereo)track that Im aware of on the card(maybe "the Dance" if any) but the card read full after only bout 45 mins...now Im curious what to do as Im certain theres not enough room to make a 45 min MP3...what are my options??? This first set was smokin! ...and the recording is AWESOME! I really learned alot in the last two weeks...but have much more to go before Im able to consider this simple or easy. "Learning curve" has been my mantra!

Use the BR Wave Converter to export your tracks. It will work even when the memory card is 100% full because it doesn't save the wav file on the memory card -- it saves it on your computer. Then you can convert it to MP3 format using Audacity, Switch, or any suitable program.

Its a 1g card...I was thinkin bout it a lil more last night, I should probably load that card up and find out for certain...but Im pretty sure I initialized a half full card, being a newb Im under the impression it erases everything...or maybe it doesnt and I used a half full card. I'll find out in a lil bit...IM hoping i can erase the other songs to make room, or if thats even an option...whatever the case I need to look into it.

I finally got a chance to check out the card(one of four)...it was an unused Boss card(Ive got 2). I initialized it, but it didnt take out "the Dance"...I unlocked it then erased it, as well as the MP3. Im hoping that freed up enough room for me to convert this 45 min track to MP3 onboard...but I dont know how big "the Dance" was or how much space it occupied?

Sprocket

eh, Ive got nine minutes left...doesnt look like Im gouing to be able to make this an MP3 onboard, I reackon Im gonna have to give the files to the drummer to convert it all.  :-[

I need a new computer, pretty badly. >:(

Get a cheap card reader, take out the card, stick it in the reader, plug it in the computer and work from the folder on the computer. The MBR is pretty slow with tranferring data.

Would that help me convert it to MP3 on the MBR?
Or is that just a fast way to transfer the file to my computer?

That just gets it out of the BR.
If you are having hangups with the MBR functions, it's often easier to circumvent it and use other programs for converting as others said above.

Im not really having hang ups, Im just in the learning process...slowly, one task at a time...alot of the features are still unfamiliar to me, so I reckon Im learning the hard way(trial and error), which is usually the easiest way for me.

Unfortunately, Im currently in-between computers...I need a new one, currently using my roommates and my work computer. Ive got the money for a new computer, but its a tough time(decision-wise)...do you buy the WinXP "downgrade" or wait another month or 2 for the new version of Windows to come out??? So Im stuck waiting *shrug*
So Im really trying to squeak out every possible feature out of this, onboard...and this also helps me learn more about the MBR in the process.
