I wrote this song and created the video back in May of 2019. It is, for the most part, dedicated to the innocent people who lost their lives on that terrible day in September of 2001 but is also for the purpose of defending all the great things about America.  I was proud to have been born and raised here.  I salute my country's flag and the many people who gave their lives and limbs to keep us a free nation.  I know that there are many countries represented on this forum and this is in no way meant to denigrate or disrespect how you feel about wherever you're from, but I'm from America and and I love her.  I also know that we're in no way a "perfect" country but it's where I was born and raised and it is better than some.

In these times we live in currently it might be considered controversial to express love and gratitude for your country, especially the USA.
I go on record that I am not a racist, misogynist, homophobe or "phobe" of any kind.  I love all kinds of GOOD people everywhere.
I hope you can enjoy this and I don't lose any friends I've made here.

Listened/watched the video and some great, if disturbing photographs, particularly of that terrible day in September 2001. The music is poignant, patriotic and appropriate for the images. Well done, John. One day I'm coming over the USA for a visit so I hope you have a few beers in the fridge LOL

Thanks for sharing that John.... I made a decision to steer clear of alot of topics on the site here... many of my own personal feelings and thoughts I'll never share here.... all of our perspectives are vastly different and especially on a forum like this.... I'm like you...I pretty much care about everyone....and I will endeavor to live at peace with all as much as possible....

Well played, sang, and put together John. The narration, with the 9/01/11 pictures and God Bless America playing in the back ground are quite moving.........

Thanks

Beautiful piece of music and so very poignant.

I'm not American, but I will never forget that horrific day either, and I don't know anybody who could.  No country is perfect, but then again, people seldom are perfect.  I'm proud to be British, even if I'm not necessarily proud of everything done by all British people.

Blimey - I'm in danger of getting all philosophical.

Hey, Ray, tworegs, StevenM, Farrell & Chappers66-
Thanks so much, not only for taking in the experience and feedback but for your understanding.  I posted this last year on another music site and I got the feeling that it wasn't welcome, though there was one person who lost family in WW2 who loved it.  Most gave me the silent treatment.  Last week YouTube informed me that they were putting an age restriction on it (after almost a year and a half), so I took it down from there and re posted it on Dailymotion.  IMHO, young people HAVE to know this!  It's a part of history and history, we all know is sometimes very painful.  I remember learning about the holocaust in school when I was 12.  Sure, I was shocked as probably everybody was, but I'm glad they taught me about it because I now have an appreciation of how evil some people can be.  I look at this the same way.  As George Santayana said "Those who fail to learn the lessons from history are condemned to repeat it".  Truer words were never spoken.
