I planned to have this one take after a children's song like Carol King's "Chicken Soup", but this song had other ideas...

Blues in G Intro G F Em Eb D
Verse 1 G
Some like to dine on more exotic fare,
They'll eat any animal, they just don't care.
C
How about a soup made of condors and rice?
G
Or some Eagle Pot Pie, mmm mmmm very nice!
D
Some think that whale is the tastiest fish,
C7 suspend music!
But a bowl of Bear soup is what I wish.
Chorus G
Buh Buh Buh Bear Soup, Buh Buh Buh Bear Soup,
I got to get a bowl of that Big Bear Soup.
C
Buh Buh Buh Bear Soup, Buh Buh Buh Bear Soup,
G
Give Me a mighty bowl of that big bear soup.
D7
Another species vanishes, so what's the fuss
G suspend music!
As long as it it them, and it ain't us.
Verse 2 G
Now you can have your bear either black or brown,
If you find a good recipe, jot it down!
C
Some will pull a Kodiak out of his lair,
G
Although I want my soup from the grizzly bear.
D
But, if you like Polar bear you'd best beware,
C7 suspend music!
Don't matter how you cook it, it just gets more rare.
(To Chorus)
Bridge C
First you get yourself a stove and a great big pot
G
Then you turn up the heat and you get it real hot
C
Drop in an onion and a carrot or two,
D7
Toss in your bear and let it stew! Mmmmm-mmmmmmmn!

Verse 3 G
When the blizzard hits, you won't have to stoop,
If you serve yourself a bowl of that big bear soup.
C
When the snow gets deep and those cold winds howl
G
You can eat till you're stuffed, and still hear your stomach growl
D
When you're cold and hungry, any soup tastes fine.
C7 suspend music!
But I like my soup a bit more ursine.
Chorus G
Buh Buh Buh Bear Soup, Buh Buh Buh Bear Soup,
I got to have a bowl of that Grizzly Bear Soup.
C
Buh Buh Buh Bear Soup, Buh Buh Buh Bear Soup,
G
Give Me a mighty bowl of that grizzly bear soup.
D7
Another species vanishes, so what's the fuss
C DON'T suspend music!
As long as it it them, and it ain't us.
end D7
Well here's something to think about that's not too complex
G
When they're all gone, then we are next!

tasty song.... you cooked up a good stew....seriously, it is much fun.  Clever lyrics.  Exceptional production.  Musicianship is excellent.  To be very honest if this were on the radio, and it is good enough, I probably would not think twice about it.  Because normally this is not my type of music.  Having said that, SC is a community and so what happens to me is I download the song and hear it multiple times as it goes in a SC folder that plays often while I'm driving or running etc.... so there are many songs on here that I like that I never would have otherwise....it is really about the connection.  In a way I think this "venue" is a bit like a coffee shop, or small club, where people come in and play and others listen.  Sometimes it's open mic, maybe a bit of karaoke at times, other times it's a feature band.  Anyway, you kind of get to "know" the artists and for me that makes it very splendid.  I am fairly new on here, about 6 weeks or so.
Your song is really good....all the way around...

A very fun song. I like the humorous lyric. Excellent writing and musicianship all around. It's reminiscent of Disney's Country Bear Jamboree songs. Well done!
