Hi all, started off as an instrumental but the words came and this is what happened.         Willie

I felt like I was going to war again
There was nobody there to explain
So I surrendered I lay me down
And the reasons that I had
They simply didn't sound so bad
So I surrendered to your love

I fought with all my strength and might
But I gave in and lost the fight
So I surrendered I lay me down
And the reasons that I had
They simply didn't sound so bad
And I surrendered to your love

You took me as a prisoner you tied my heart
I should have known better right from the start
And I surrendered I lay me down
And the reasons that I had
They simply didn't sound so bad
And I surrendered to your love

When I 1st heard Willie's song, I found I liked it so much I couldn't stop playing it.

However, something about the percussion bothered me to the point I asked Willie for a drumless track which he graciously supplied. After a few tries, here's a mix with some live percussion that hopefully captures the intent of the original but with maybe a more fluid vibe.  Hope it fits (and not too loud)!

ok....  a great song is even better now...the drums are really nice.  Are these Acoustic?  Could you elaborate a little on your drum process?  I can see why so many SC use drum tracks of one sort or another...they are so important and yet it is so hard to come up with on your own...unless you are a drummer, then maybe you don't write songs so much...anyway...thanks.

Hi Stephen - I am a drummer and if you need any tracks, let me know.  I sold my "real" drums a few years ago.  I'm now using a set of Roland V-drums which (along with a Roland keyboard and numerous electric guitars) allows me to record everything digital direct. Except vocals of course which I usually farm out as I'm no singer.  ::)

Here's a lame rough take video of my recording an original song from 7 years ago:  https://youtu.be/TMA1tGlwJ0U

As to number of songs, check out my jukebox list, or go to my song posting pages on soundclick linked below. If anything I find I try to write too many songs!  :P
