Apart from the humorous element in this song there is some great guitar work and excellent harmonies. Is there any chance you could post the lyrics as I could not get all of 'em. Very well produced/mixed giving the whole song a 'live' feel. Great job; well done.

Ray Brookes,
Since you asked:

One Hit Wonder
© Copyright 2007 Mark D. Hastings
"a song about the glories and rewards of being a songwriter as told from the perspective of someone with a severe need to get his medication adjusted"

VERSE
Wanna be a songwriter, I'll make tons of money,
That'll be so great, every day will be sunny.
And [C]all my friends will be envious of me.

I'll be rich and famous, I will go real far
I'll drive all through the town in my shiny new car
But there's just one thing I do not want to be

CHORUS
I don't wanna be another one hit wonder,
Don't wanna get one hit and never get another
That's not good enough, not good enough for me.

I'm gonna write the tunes that you just can't forget    They'll be the
most amazing tunes that you've ever heard yet.
Give me a Grammy or three that will be good enough for me.

VERSE
Wanna be real famous that'll be so nice
I'll make so very much money selling merchandise
I might even get an action figure of me.

When the paparazzi follow me I might take a jab
If they try to get pictures while I head to rehab
Oh, that's the life, yeah! that's the life for me.

To CHORUS

Bridge
Oh, the life of a songwriter is so glorious and famous
I feel about to burst, I mean I hardly can contain myself

I just won't have to worry or to make up my mind
I'll be rich enough to get divorced at least three times

You just might start to wonder "Can I be a writer too?"
With opportunity so plenty and competitors so few

END with chorus.

Kenny Mac,
"Im a bit confused about this one ,is it a band or yourself?"

Apologies for confusing you. It's kind of  both.  I wrote and arranged the song. I often generate more than the lead vocal and piano tracks. In this case I also played Bass on the keyboard.  The drum track was generated using Logic Pro X. The guitars and backing vocals were Vance Grazio (boneonbone) and Mark Porro.  Most of these tracks were generated at different locations and exchanged via DropBox. Vance did the Engineering and production.

Mark P, Vance and myself were once in a band together, but although we support each other's recordings now, we are not really a band. (Although Mark P, and Vance are in Currier Square together. ) I hope this  helps resolve your confusion, rather than adding to it.

"Its very different from your other song"
Yeah, I'm kind of all over the map. I've never really figured out how to categorize my music...

Thanks for your kind and encouraging  comments!

"With opportunity so plenty and competitors so few"... LOL!
Great lyrics, and terrific performance! Couldn't help but think of 'Cover of the Rolling Stone'.
Nothing like a positive attitude...   ;D
There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Great fun, extremely well put together and produced, loved the vocals and guitar work in particular. Nice tongue in cheek lyrics. Mind you, I'd be happy with just one hit myself...... ;D
