A song about a piano, but you're free to visualize your guitar or whatever "axe" you play.

Enjoy!

Sitting there in the dark corner,
Silently she waits
She's always strong when I feel wrong
and knows her part to play
So gracefully in perfect tuning
Quietly she sings
Crafts my melodies deep from her strings
whenever I need her to

So much to say behind the curtain
Modestly she speaks
Romance, it flows from every note
and keeps in time with my sad heart
So sweet she sounds from my perspective
Phrased so beautifully
Only she can know the ebb and flow
She helps me tell my sad tale

Ready day or night
or anytime inspiration hits me
Even songs that emanate from deep inside my soul
Pretty melodies, they pass
smoothly from keys below my fingers
Takes me to a distant time

And in the essence she is delightful
She plays so beautifully
Feelings come so deep as if she weeps
A song she sings through my heart

She is so guided to my direction
Perfect harmony
Exquisitely, they meet.
The bitter and the sweet
The music from her heart
Sitting there in the dark corner
Quietly she sings
Unchains my heart. I write the chart
and slowly fall apart

WOW! This is fabulous.

There are some amazing chord changes here, and the melody just weaves through them.

And the lyrics fit perfectly.

Oh my goodness. Just had to hit play again when it finished.

Love it.

Is just a piece of paper
To say a few lines
Make up my mind

Some lovely chordal progressions and interesting melodies here. The vocal lines would be difficult to perform (impossible for me) especially with those octave intervals. Great song; well done.

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

I'm trying to figure out what I am more impressed with - the melody, the chord progression, the lyrics, or your piano playing. It's all very impressive. This is a great song, John; intimately performed. Bravo.
There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Another stellar piece of music John. Full of twists and turns and melodic nuances. The piano playing is fab but I also really liked the way you wove the bass part into this, I really enjoyed that. The additional strings/keys are very nicely done as well. The vocals are great as always, you handle complex melody lines very well without pitch issues, and they sound superb. It's all beautifully recorded and produced as well. Great stuff.

I liked the lyrics but they don't really apply to my axe of choice. It kind of sits in the corner and says "go on then, pick me up if you think you're hard enough...."  ;D
