If You Wanna Get To Heaven

I am really bad at covers but almost every song I hear I say I want to play that... what I did here was play along with the song to get my rhythm guitar parts recorded.... and then added drums....doing the same thing.... then from there I could do everything else stand alone...is that cheating?  I am really in love with my Epiphone Les Paul... years ago I had a black standard Gibson... when i was a kid I wanted a guitar in the worst way but mom wasn't really into guitars plus she didn't have the money.  When i reached 20 and had some money....bingo ...that was 1980 and I bought it at a music store in New London, CT.  I was in the Navy on submarines and I would bring it to sea where I had to sleep with it because I had no other place to store it.  When I had some free time i would steal away into the torpedo room, put on my headphones and jam as best I could to my Rockman....that thing sounded great to my ears even though I couldn't play very much then.  Learning guitar and bass has been hard, but really enjoyable...in a way my guitar is better than a woman.... and then when i got my Boss ME-25 effects pedal I had so much to play with plus a wah pedal which I had never used....and what I was trying to say before I went all over the place was I quit playing for years after a nasty divorce (20 years of marriage)... it took me a long time and really some divine intervention to get back 11 years ago.... the vocals here remind me of a sort of country wannabe singing an old rock tune...
