This is a song that I recorded about 5 years ago and always wanted to add keyboards to...I bought my wife (she is a professional) a Casio PX 350 for Christmas last year to go with her Kuwai that is 20 years old but still sounds great, but at 50 pounds it was heavy to lug around and the Casio is 25...so when Covid came I had time to noodle and come up with some key parts and I had to work hard to get my fingers to do what they had to do...I could have step by step recorded but I didn't want to take the time to learn how so instead i took the time to learn how to actually play the parts...lol...either way...I took the time!
I worked with both my BR1600 and Zoom R24 on this and mastered on the BR... the drums are my Alesis performance pads that I bang on, the guitar is my one and only Epiphone Les Paul, the bass is an Epiphone... btw can someone tell me how to get the little photos at the bottom of your posts like I see?  Haven't figured that out yet...
this song I call Pink Cars as a tribute to 2 of my favorite bands... plus I saw this pink mustang I thought was neat... and the song is 2 parts, an instrumental...

Nice tones and production!  I can relate to your story on learning or "cheating" with step edits.  :-[

Cool tune and well recorded.  Enjoyed it.

A few years ago a did a mit of interim management work for a company in Oxfordshire. Next door was a car body repair garage and I looked out the office window and there was a beautiful Bentley Continental R in British Racing green.  Over the next few days I watched them rub the paintwork back to bare metal and resprayed it in shocking pink.  I asked the garage owner what that was all about and it turned out they were doing the work for a woman called Katy Price (Jordan) , a fairly famous "glamour model" and media "personality".

Bloody awful.  The car that is.

I'm rambling now.

I like your song. Great recording, playing and melody.
In all honesty,  one thing I have noticed about your written posts here, is your honesty and humilty. That goes a long way with me, and the group here would probably agree. Most here are interested in supporting and creating,  that's why I keep returning here.
Most here too, have no high ego, many have talents that blow away many in the world music spotlight. Yet still, they share, and find joy in community.  Honesty here is what fuels this community.  I learn from them all the time and have had a self esteem build, despite my very own "mediocrity " of music abilities.
Glad you joined. Hopefully in time there will be some collabs too.
Rock on, as Hook says.

Very atmospheric, love the harmony lead guitars. The keys add some nice melodies and textures, I am like you I always had to painfully work out my keyboard parts. That was until I got a Boss SY-1 guitar synth pedal, well worth checking out  ;) The drums came across better in the mix on this one, you did good work with the performance pads there.

Intriguing song structure, it certainly helps add some dynamics and hold the interest. This was a really enjoyable listen, nice to have looping in the backgtound.

Your two favourite bands? I could see you liking The Cars, but Pink? I thought she was aimed at teenagers............. ;) ;D

TPB

Nice lead playing and yes the keys blended well good job on learning it

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

AndyR

Cool tunes. I like how the guitars interweave.

And the keyboard techniques - hehe... I only record audio myself (well, not using a DAW and having no sequencer, I kind of have to, but I do prefer it, seems a lots less faff to me)

BUT!! I do tend to record left and right hand separately. And I can often find myself reduced to taking 4 tracks to record a piano part (2 each for left and right hand, comping the parts together to a single mono performance). Makes for a slow workflow on a BR1600, especially when you several parts!!

Recently, though, I have found my playing getting better - either that or I'm simplifying the arrangements I want!!

I wouldn't drive a pink car...but I think it might be cool for a lady...but not the one you described...

thanks for the feedback...about the pink thing...like in floyd...lol.... so I called this pink cars more because I thought the guitar was just a little dream toward david gilmour and even though the keyboards aren't very cars like keyboards...it was all I could think of...so...  the part about the keyboards being hard....it actually is all hard for me...but because i love it so much I keep plodding away... kind of like my relationship with my lady....I'm not that great at it....but i really like it so I keep on trying...
