I thank the IT crowd on the site for the title.

I must stop buying sample libraries.

When I see your name, I always know it's going to be good Paul. You are extremely creative and versatile,  and I am still jealous of your shred guitar skills! Lol
Great tune!

Cool soundscape, Paul with nice creative utilisation of the instruments. What sample libraries do you have?

Most of my libraries are from Spitfire audio and the main ones I use are:

BBC Symphony Orchestra core
Albion one
solo strings
orchestral swarm
Hans Zimmer percussion
angular strings
symphonic motions
Aperture strings (this one was free at the time!)
Olafur Armalds chamber evolution
BT phobos

I also have all of the free labs libraries which are fantastic - as long as you realise that they are a bit like a drug dealer giving you a free sample of crystal meth!

I should say in my defence that I have never paid full price for any of these.  I always wait for sales and Spitfire also offer reasonable deals for bundles.
If you only get one I would recommend BBC Symphony Orchestra Core which allows you to achieve good orchestral mock-ups, and you can still get the "discover" version free if you fill out a questionnaire online.  Albion one is also a good place to start if you can cope with the kontakt environment.

I would also give a shout out for Omnisphere. Fantastic synth/sample player.

Hope this helps.

I love this one Paul. Superb use of the different sounds and it's beautifully composed and arranged. I really liked the slightly mysterious feel of this one, the melodies are really great and fit the groove really well. There's some odd bits and bobs in there as well that really spark interest (theremin at one point?). Keep buying those sample libraries.

And as an author of many Magic Quadrants in my working life, the title drew me straight in :D. This music fits the whole process  of doing one of these things really well - mysterious, slightly spooky, never quite sure where it's going to end up!

Greeny

Intriguing and inventive - an audio adventure that could (and should) be used for a film and TV theme. Seriously - you should be selling these composition skills. I especially enjoyed the clanky (Hans Zimmer) percussion - adds a really quirky edge. Fantastic work.

I agree with Tim, and I meant to say in my response, you should be writing film/video soundtracks. You definitely have the chops for it.

Oh yeah... LOVE it...

You're enticing me ever closer to this "DAW and sample libraries" approach... agghh! I don't wanna do it ;D ;D ;D

But this is SO good in that inspiring "how's he do that? I could do that! what's he doing to make it like that?!?!" kinda way :)

Thanks so much for your kind words.   I really appreciate it.  I am actually seriously considering getting a few pieces together and submitting them to a library or two, just to see what happens. It would be a blast if somebody gave me 20 quid for a piece of music!  I'll carry on doing a bit of research and see what happens.
