Technically, this is a cover. Since it's a cover of a piece written and originally recorded by a friend of mine, exceptional musician/composer Rob Hanlon, I thought this would be a better place, since no one will recognize it. Actually, there is at least one person here who will. Rob was kind enough to let me have my way with it. Something a little different.

There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Whoar!  all six minutes forty seven of it!!

I like the changes in tempo - it all gets a bit jazz Funky in places - I was kind of thinking Jan Hammer - but even that doesn't really do it justice.

i love the synth sounds, I lost count..

Drums  - fab.

A whole synth odyssey! Definitely gave me an early to mid 80's Miami Vice / Beverley Hills Cop vibe. There are so many great parts that it could be cut up and used across a whole movie. Really loved that jazzy swing section - cool contrast. So many amazing things going on! Amazing guitar, bass and drums too. In fact the drum programming is a thing of wonder in its own right. Fabulous!

Thanks everyone! The original was primarily guitar based, so it was quite a rearranging project.

Actually, I've never programmed a drum track in my life. I always play my own drums. You can tell by the mistakes. It was my first instrument, which I played in several bands in my younger days. I currently have a set of Roland V-drums that I use for my recordings.

Real drumming? That makes it way more incredible. Serious kudos!

Wow, really nice interpretation of this track. You did a great job layering all the different synth sounds and mixing them so you kept clarity throughout.

So many twists and turns that you handle really well, and excellent drum work - I didn't notice any mistakes. I just really enjoyed the groove.
