Messing about with my Harley Benton jazz Bass and Fender Copy and this happened.

It is what it is.
At the cost of pride
And taking things for granted
Now on the outside
Don't even get a look in
No more respect
Your pedestal has broken
The cries through your megaphone
Fall on deaf ears
We've heard it all before

A shadow of your self
Your glories in the past
Point out everything that's wrong
But can't provide us with the answers
And when you had your chance
You didn't have the nerve
To steer us from disaster
And now you run around
Blaming everyone
That tries repair the damage
That you bequeathed us

Nothing's positive
You only see the negatives
In your dark room
Smothered in the bitterness
Sneaking through the back door
To shout at the winners
Making a fool of yourself
With no self awareness
We've seen it all before

Holding onto what was never yours
Clutching at straws
In your echo chamber
And each and every day
Your acolytes
No longer know what you stand for
And with your poison pen
You post your green ink letters
To your friends in the papers

That's a lovely chilled vibe... just what I needed. Great work on those drums and some super hard hitting lyrics. Lovely stuff.

I'm also getting the U2-ish vibe. The production on this one is really good, it's a great lush sound and everything comes across really well. The Mac and Garageband is really paying dividends (plus the good old MBR for vox). Great sounds all round.

Your emotion shines through again, although I'm sorry to say I didn't recognise the lady in question (although I think I did recognise the Scottish Parliament....).

Before reading any comments, I said the same as Kenny Mac - U2 and Bowie. Great lyrics, and mesmerizing music, James. Excellent recording as well.
There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

I was getting the U2 vibe on the guitars and chord sequence too... But it's unmistakably orh for me :)

Very cool sounds.

Oh yeah. Lovely chiming U2 guitars and a superb, conversational vocal. There's a lot of anger in this, but it channels itself in a really dreamy way. The drum and bass sounds soooo good too. Brilliant! It actually sounds like The Edge is guesting on guitar!

Redler

Great job on each way, James! The guitar really has authentic U2 tone. Is it from Tonebridge?
