First outing for the electric 12 string. I can't put the fucker down - it's so damn playable and pleasurable. I think I'm slightly in love  ;D ::) Or is it lust?

So this is just two layers of the 12 string (rhythm, plus additional melody lines), Fender Jazz, vocals and Garageband drums. The main guitar part is going through a Behringer compressor pedal, Belcat tremolo, my favourite little Landlord 'Spinning Room' phaser, and a Fulltone OCD setting on my Boss OD-20 Drive Zone. The guitar automatically leads me in a psychedelic direction.

You get a nice natural octave effect when you play lead lines.

All recorded and mixed on the MBR.

Yes, Mike & James... it does sound a bit like the start of the Man on Fire riff  ;D :o ::) ;D ;)

Blue barbs puncture right through
this plastic raincoat skin
and let the meanies in

this landscape's strictly brutalist
watch it's concrete form a fist

time drains through the hourglass
and every grain could be our last
no no I'm not deranged
it's just a pocketful of strange
a pocketful of strange
a pocketful of strange

drunk and always out to lunch
with dead heads by the bunch
acting on a hunch

his landscape's strictly brutalist
watch it's concrete form a fist

time drains through the hourglass
and every grain could be our last
no no I'm not deranged
it's just a pocketful of strange
a pocketful of strange
a pocketful of strange

the play must go on
but the script has gone all wrong
blind faith has gone
nothing to lean on
and I'm not deranged

it's just a pocketful of strange
a pocketful of strange
a pocketful of strange...

Real nice sound on the 12 string Tim! I like the swirling room effect. A great title and hook with "Pocketful of Strange", well done!

Oh man, the HB 12 sounds fabulous! Excellent song Tim, and also a fine example of how a new tool can unlock new sound textures and ideas.

How great the 12 string sounds has been covered but would like to add what a great song.  Fine lyrics, melody line and changes. Wish I could write like that!

Congrats for the new guitar, it sounds like a dream! Stunning song and I'm just admiring and wondering that how an earth you're able to write so great music and lyrics frequently...you're a great talent.

A new toy often prompts a new creative spurt and I'm glad this one did. The 12 string sounds as good as it looks and it definitely does tend toward the pyschedelic. Just loving the swirly wash of sounds which complement the lyrics perfectly. And the lyrics as always are fantastic, great imagery and really compelling use of words. It's a fabulous combination, looking forward to hearing more.
