I thought at 1st this was a cover of the Ian Hunter song called Bastard.
He wrote that for his wife and soeng several years in the dog house after it
Ivs a few people I would gladly dedicate this too.

I didn't comment on this at first. What I love about it is the sadness. Looking at the lyrics, you would expect an angry tone. But sadness is the correct feeling. The bastards of the world make the world worse for everyone – even for themselves. They aren't motivated entirely by greed and power – fear and insecurity are also at play.

I've written a couple of songs that start as a scold, as a rant, and then I find a little compassion for the bastard. I feel you've done that here.
