I'm very excited to share with you a very rare audio clip, recently recovered from the depths of the BBC archive vaults, of the legendary EDM genius Thin Boy Slob - aka Norman Hartnell.  This incredible clip captures Thin Boy at the height of his game, performing live in front of literally dozens of ecstatic people at the Weston-Super-Mare Slimecore Club, the world famous centre of the Tesco Club-card scene.

Sadly all that remains of this electrifying 2 hour performance is 75 seconds of the classic "I'm in the Zone"

Enjoy.

You know, I think I was at that gig. I mean the '90's are all a bit hazy, but I spent a summer sleeping on the beaches of the south west, bumming my way round and getting gear wherever I could find it. Sleeping until the seagulls started to see if I was edible, surfing, warm Fosters lager and party til 3am or later.

I'm sure I was there. I'm in the zone, yeah

Nice find Paul.

Ah Weston-Super-Mare, not that far from the M4/M5 Interchange. I like to think that Thin Boy was the inheritor of the music started by the likes of  those underground German bands that so influenced Star Schema, only with a lot more Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

This certainly captures the spirit of that scene with some great EDM noises going on, superb thumping bass sounds and all it needs is a mahoosive sound system to take it to the next level. I found that just having it looping means you can recreate the experience of the full 2 hr performance.

Great fun Paul, very nicely put together and I laughed out loud at the background piece.

Now, I'm from Weston-Super-Mare, and I don't remember anything like this...

Mind you, I left to go to University in 1980... then made my way (from Exeter) to London to get famous...

I remember Mr B's... but it was all Stayin Alive and Le Freak when I was there.

My sister tells me that it got quite slimey later... I don't really see Thin Boy Slob being her sort of night out either, so she probably didn't see them.
