...A chanllenge  (PS...I ' got it! the lead guitar of Bluesbrakers in 2002 (in this song was....Buddy Whittington  :) :D )

I think it's the first time (on SC) that I give up doing a cover!...but I like this song and it's not too difficult: it's a slow blues, in 12/8 by John Mayall. I really like the lead guitar and the piano backing vocals at the beginning of the song.
As the piece is very long I used chordify to identify the chords.

Then I did the organ, the piano (with keyboard and soundfonts)
Drums and  bass is made with BIAB

I played the first 16 bars with a reading in the ear of the guitar (the record is from 2002 "story" I don't think it's Clapton who plays the lead guitar).

...and then when I got to the beginning of the song, I realized that I couldn't sing it quite right...

OUPS! , I left the first two sentences of the song
QuoteSomewhere in the worls, Are friends I(ve missedI from years ago...

So I gave up and continued with a few bars of guitar improv...

That's the story...too bad. If any good singer wants to try, I'm ready to go back to backtrack. ;)
