I was messing around this afternoon and this came out.....
I get down on my knees and I pray for a day
Where we can all go outside to run and play
Take my hand and  tell what you see
can you see a future, for likes of you and me
It's gone is it gone is it gone

The clocks keeps ticking but the days have stopped
Are the good times gone have we all been robbed
Tinker Taylor soldier spy has the truth gone and turned into a god dam lie
As the rich man bleeds us poor men dry no one here seems to ask why
If It's not all for the riches their just trying to keep the poor man down under there knee

I get down on my knees and I pray for a day
Where we can all go out and be free again
Take my hand tell what you see
can you see a future, for likes of you and me
It's gone is it gone is it gone

Just logging in to quickly comment before I stagger drunkenly off to my bed...

I heard this earlier when you first posted it on alonetone... WOW!!

It's fantastic... (might feel different when I sober up! ;D ;D)

Love the sparse guitar/drum groove.

The vocals are stunning good. And the "Link Wray" lead break - woof!

And that call and response on the fade...

Excellent.

Excellent job with lyrics and vocals, as always! Simple rhythm track is captivating and fits nicely to your song. Superb job at the solo - agree with Link Wray comparison. Brilliant tune, Trev!

Love the lyrics and i love the way you sing this. a tad more volume on that guitar and it would hit the sweet spot for me...........

Great work though  8)

This is fab, Trev. I like the sparse backing with that wrenched vocal over the top. Gives me a Sensational Alex Harvey Band vibe. Catchy, insistent, and rather cool.

Ferryman_1957

Sparse, sharp as nails and really effective. Great vocal performance and I loved the openness of the track which really allows the guitar lead to come right through and hit you between the eyes. Nice one indeed!

TPB

Yay buddy just what I needed a little Reg vocal along with a dirty lead well done brother I like the sparseness of the song

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Hey Trevor, this song shows that you don't need a ton of tracks to make a big impact. All you need is some good, emotional vocal/lyric, a foot tappin' rhythmic beat, a cool guitar solo, and an excellent mix. Very impressive man!

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

That is a super infectious riff. Love the sparseness of the arrangement and the way those guitar stabs wait for their appearance.  Very cool.
