He did work for / with Thomas Cromwell, but I don't think he's mentioned in that book. His name is Sir John Gresham. His nephew is the more famous Thomas Gresham who founded the Royal Exchange / City of London.

Your sense of pop always grabs me. The arrangement, delivery, and recording are wonderful. Those verse chords are especially cool.

Weird is almost always a good thing in my book. This is terrific Tim. Loving the subject matter and the story behind the track, fascinating stuff. What a track though, those guitars are lush... little bit of the Cure in tone maybe. Loads going on in here. A cracker.

This is one cracking song. The lyrics have a real descriptive bite to them that play off the dark jangle of the verses (that riff you came up with sounds brilliant, I could totally hear Johnny Marr playing it). As always, a great balance on the mix with some excellent punch to the bass. Very odd to hear your 13th Great Grandfather, I guess family lines can trace back weirdly sometimes like that. I'm distantly related to a Dutchess of Normandy so maybe it's more common than you think... :)
