One day i was noodling on my acoustic when out of nowhere came 2 Major Chords D and A (with a d note added) Back and forth went my strumming and words flowed out. Ever had that ? I didn't even need to think they just came, even the G major to break up the verses and quickly i hit record and just strummed all through it. i left the song there and thought id return to it later. A few days passed and i listened to it and that was that i was stumped ?? I thought if i re record the vocals something will come so i did that but again nothing?? I could hear a piano maybe strings but was completely stumped. I added a bad piano line but i just couldn't get any other ideas. Then i was collaborating with a few people on Hippy man and i missed Hardlocks inclusions because my son had set up my email like i was part of the pentagon. I felt so bad and got chatting with him. I told him about this song and sent him what i had and the rest as they say is history........... Look where he took it. Its like he heard what was in my head and made it better. He kept asking me if i liked this and that and i just listened in awe at each new take. He knew the song needed to breathe and he let that happen. We even had the song near complete when suddenly we decided to see what drums would do and he did wonders with those too. Very talented man is Ken. I hope we can do some more work together in the future :)

Enjoy

Look at you, Are you so hard to see?
Look at me, Am i so hard to please?
We can go anywhere, We can be anyone
Nothings that hard to bear......For me

Look at you, Dazed and confused
Look at me, Yeah i'm scared too
We were both all alone, At odds with everyone
We had nothing left, To lose

Look at them, Weren't they worth fighting for
Look at them, Its what the futures for
They're just little me, and they're just little you
They're our everything. And more

Look at us, Now that were free
Look at us, Look we achieved
We have just us four, That's what our love is for
We have everything

I've been trying to listen to this track for over an hour - I get part way through and then I get interrupted by something or someone.

Just got there....

It's a great track - I particularly like the space inside the arrangement, it feels fragile and delicate. A really good collaboration.

This is lovely. The piano and the acoustic guitar sound so good - perfect balance. And then that dreamy, melodic lead guitar flowing over the top. Getting a big Pink Floyd vibe in the feel and the lyric. This would have sat nicely on 'Dark Side of the Moon'! What a brilliant collab. This is what it's all about.

I want to thank Dan for allowing me the privilege of contributing so much into his song. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it and all the parts just came so naturally like they were meant to be.

And thanks also to everyone for the great comments.  :)

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

Oh, yeah this is mightily cool.

It's got "real", and "reflective", and loads of space, and melody...

It feels like the final track on a classic album we've all had in our record collections since way back when people used to borrow them to roll huge funny looking/smelling cigarettes on ...

Great work guys. Dan, you took a really simple song structure and turned it into a really good listen. The lyrics suit the chords really well and I loved the piano part, it really creates interest. Ken's additions are the icing on the cake that just add some more nuances to add to the lovely feeling this song creates. A fab collab!

Magic, the best songs just come out of nowhere as if they have been bubbling inside yer head for years waiting to pop out. Got a hunky dory vibe music wise.

Not at all Ken. I listened to your songs and knew you could take this further. It was so weird that it just came out the blue and then i couldn't get anything else to go with it. Im no piano player and definitely no good with strings but could kind of hear what was needed but had no way of putting that down or letting anyone know via the interlubes so this would definitely have just been left behind. You seemed to know instinctively what was needed and i knew that the moment you had listened and came back to me with your first idea so i couldn't do anything else but let you run with it. I am honoured to have collaborated with you and i do have a couple more ideas i may float your way soon ;)

Thanks everyone for your input it means alot to me as im sure it does Ken (Hardlock) it certainly keeps me motivated thats for sure ;)
