Spent the best part of Saturday afternoon  on the music for this. Tho it might drone on a bit there is a lot going on.  6 separate guitar tracks using my HB tele, drums via garageband, my Bass is out of action so i used my korg nano key for the bass riff, then for a further two mellotron parts. That done i transferred to my micro br and in the wee small hours i wrote a lyric and did a deep and quiet guide vocal. This morning i then did the main vocal. i transferred both vocals back in to my mac book. although vocals where recorded independently of one another i liked the weirdness of them going in and out of sync, so mauxed them together. as there was so much going on, i got up the loft and dug out my old pink monitors and mixed it with them plugged into the MacBook. anyway.

It is what it is.

Have you ever reached for the sky
With the hope that you just might touch it
And a dream that still inspires
And the will to keep on trying
Well you may fall before you win
But you'll pick yourself back up
And do it all over again
Cos you know it's there to have
So far and yet so near
So far and yet so near
So far and yet so near
So far and yet so near

And when you've touched the sky
You'll sure feel satisfied
But before too long
You'll be aiming higher
Maybe for the stars
With just imagination
You can do anything
You can do anything
So far and yet so near etc
So far and Yet So Near

I like this and i like them vocals. Very mellow and you could drift to this as i did (lol) i really like the atmosphere of it all. i thought you had added some sort of delay to them but then i read how you did them and banked that for future use ;)

Nice !!

Ferryman_1957

Another ethereal dreamy piece which is very effective. I particularly liked the combination of guitars and keys on this one, the guitar tracks work very well together. The inadvertent vocal effect does work well, sometimes the unintended stuff works out better than something we might have planned! The lyrics are great, I like the message in there. And beautifully sung as well.

Nice work all round Jim, really enjoyed this.

So mellow and dreamy. I loved the title straight away, and the song is just fabulous. It's reminding me of 80's New Order for some reason. I love it! Bloody gorgeous production.

Gritter

Dreamy for sure. Nice melody and message. All the nice nuances takes me 50 feet off the ground.

Whenever you say "it is what it is", or something similar, I know we're in for a treat...

This is fabulous. Just washes over you.

I love the effect of the two vocals.
