Colabs - I love em. But I feel we are cheating - it's been 11 years since I started to colaborate with Tim & James, I got the gig because I was pretty much the only bass player in town at the time. 11 years, two trips to Norway with Geir, Jarle, a rendezvous or two with Tim and Tharek in the smoke, hotel next to a bomb crater in Glasgow with a guitar and gun shop across the road, introduction by ORH, a day in a rehearsal room with Kenny Mac, SE and ORH in Glasgow, some great guitar from Satchwood, more recently Ella and Kenny Mac, collabs - they're great, they take on new directions, you end up in a completely different place to where you thought you would.

I was playing around with the sequencer on my recently acquired Poly D, started some electronica from the 90's thang, sent it speculatively to Tim and James (and Geir - he's busy, hang on in there my good friend) and it just went mad. James sent some incoherent vocals and then re-recorded them in his car down a tube of pringles, Tim sent some guitar and backing vocals and I glued it all together with some extra guitar.

Lockdown; Schmockdown.

Love Unconditional, to my brothers and sisters of Songcrafters. To the ones I have met and the ones I have yet to meet, love and peace to you all.

I'm sure that James will fill in the gaps and provide the lyrics

Waiting for
the car to crash
the train
to come off the rails
prepared
for any
eventuality
we have a plan
we can face anything
that comes our way
we can stop disaster
in it's tracks
with love.................
love unconditional
can heal your wounds
love unconditional
can kiss it better
the consequence
of thinking
can produce
the solution
to provide
a better outcome
so take
that
deep breath
and think
rock a by baby
on a tree top
no need to worry
i'm here to catch you
if you fall
but you have no need
to worry
we won't let that
happen
We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different

I am getting so many influences from this but a real heavy Bowie presence and anyone that can pull of a Bowie in my book is genius..................

I love it every part the lyrics the vocals that 80's Berlin Bowie/Kraftwerk Talking Heads Human league............. i could go on and on

LOVE IT!!!

Wow, loving this one! What a great sound..... Rich synths, great drums, fab guitar work from Tim (love the solo at around 2:20) and great vox from Jim (which sit beautifully in the mix). I got a strong Ultravox vibe from this, the synths reminded me of All Stood Still (I'm thinking more 80s than 90s, ulp!) but as always it's got your unique twist on it. The mix and production is spot on, it sounds clear and punchy with great sonic depth all round.

Brilliant stuff. I'm off to shave my sideburns into points and dance around a bit more......

Greeny

Mike does the solo and the whammy part (both fab). My bits are tremolo chords - and backing vox.

I don't know if this is even close, but this reminds me of the band Berlin (and maybe their only hit). Cool vibe. After being absent  for a spell, it's nice to hear some old friends.

Blimey, good work Mike! And still good work Tim, the rhythm sounds are great, the vibrato creates a nice edge.

AndyR

Oh yeah, nice.

I can hear all sorts of 80s stuff in here. Of course, I HATED this sound in the 80s  ;D (being the rocker/folkie/60s-nut like wot I am!), but I kinda feel a warm glow of nostalgia about it now.
