Well this started off as just a bassline and an idea to make a Psychedelic Track for Collabfest 2. The Original idea came from the very 1st song i wrote with my very 1st band when i was 15 in the loft of a friends house. (It was a very different song then) Anyway i had this bassline humming around in my brain for months on and off and thought it would be a good idea to see what would come of it if i put it out there as a blank canvas for others to add whatever they wanted with just the above brief. Well a few people got on board but some had commitments that meant they either couldn't get anything done or it had moved on before their piece could be added and it no longer fit so sorry if you don't hear your work here but thanks for the time you put in.

In the end there were 3 of us that really romped on with this and that was myself, Cuthbert and Maxit. As i mentioned it started as a single bassline but i soon put a basic drum beat to it and wrote some lyrics then Maxit did some fantastic Acoustic work, an original riff, some intermingling acoustic lead and some nifty backwards acoustic effects. I then asked someone to do some bongos for this and i know a great percussionist by the name of Bongoloius (Look him up on youtube) Trouble is with mr Bongo he is a lovely guy but really likes the grog and wacky baccy and so did two takes both of which were superb but totally out of time. Then he remixed them both into what can only be described as a Hippies worst nightmare and then flaked out for 3 days. By this time Cuthbert put down some great Rhythm Guitar and a lovely Tampura which took this in a completely different direction so i set about fitting it all together i did some Wah work as you know it's coming back in big way (lol) but it needed either some Psychedelic Lead Guitar of which my request here drew a large blank (lol) or some Sitar of which Cuthbert tried and produced but by this time for some reason this track was a nightmare to get anything to fit without it sounding really out of place, There were some very nice Sitar parts but none long enough to not get lost or to flow so sadly i had to make the decision to cut it and add more Wah just to get the song finished. I would've liked to have added some weird trippy noises but i have nothing that fancy to hand so did the best i could with what i had. I am happy with it and i'm so glad i did it and had fun as it was so different to how i normally do things but i had to finally call time on it as in all fairness i think i bit off a bit more than i could chew but as a plus i really got to know how to work Reaper and i also got to do loads of mixing which is what i was really struggling with.

So BIG thanks to Maxit and Cuthbert and i hope we can work together again in the future....... I do still have the wavs if any of you want to add anything or remix this song, Just let me know and above all i hope whoever could be bothered to read all of this enjoys the track (lol) ;)

I couldn't even get it to fade out nicely so the ending is very Apt as to how this old hippy felt in the end

This is a great fun track, a really good bass line that drives it along nicely and creates a fab groove. The guitars all go together well, I like the slightly effected acoustic and it's a nice counterpoint to the wah (which fits the track really well). I quite like the breakdown at the end - sometimes that can work even though you don't intend it to!

Definite potential here. It's a great listen as it is but I can see what you mean by wanting to add a bit more.

Very cool indeed. I love the sound of a sitar, wah and anything that has some kind of backwards reverb (or just plain backwards recording) on it. Lots of superb contributions and parts. An excellent collab!

Trippy hippy song! Captivating tune with cool additions - wah guitar and sitar fit like a glove. Fine job by all of you!

Brilliant work guys... this is a very cool tune. It really captures that hippie feeling. Some great noises and effects... it does sound "out there". It's been put together very well... in a very chilled out fashion... nice!!

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away
