Another collaboration, but with my friend Marco that played all except acoustic guitar (that's me). He's not a songcrafter (but maybe he'll be;-), but, as me he's been a teen in the 80s, and I think he, without me saying anything about arrangement, exactly summarized and played 80s stile, so sweet and pop. Here it is:

Simple Song

I remember we
We were rambling teens
I remember your white legs
I remember you
swimming in the pool
Your strawberry funny swimming suit

The music cassette we shared
It was Culture Club
It was a fun fun fun fun
Fun fun age

I want a simple song
Nothing ain't simple at all
I want a simple song
Nothing ain't simple at all

You took your motorbike
With the sand in your feet
I was behind trying not to touch
Still I was holding your hips
Like it was not up to me
It was the sweet smell of your hair
And it was all in there,
It was everything right
It was a sweet sweet sweet sweet
Sweet desire

I want a simple song
Nothing ain't simple at all
I want a simple song
Nothing ain't simple at all

And when coming home
Grandma sat on the porch
Asking
Boy are you hungry enough
Laughs with ma and pa
Playing with my sister
Reading in the garden till it was too dark
And my friends out there
Call you got to prepare
We gonna ride till the midnight comes

I want a simple song
Nothing ain't simple at all
I want a simple song
Nothing ain't simple at all

I want a simple song
Nothing ain't simple at all
I want a simple song
Nothing ain't simple at all

I remember those times! This is a very sweet, very catchy pop song. So summery. I love that last coda with the backing vox / harmonies so much!

Flash Harry

I remember them too!

What a lovely song. It had a great summery youthful feel to it.

Very nice Maxit and friends! You set a cool summer time mood in this simple song...although this song is not simple at all. Lovely melody, lyric, vocals and harmonies!

Wow another stunner.....

Lovely took me right back and reminded me of the Eels (Novocaine for the soul)

Loved this sooooooooo much  ;)

Really nice song, a lovely simple structure but it's put together very well and it's a great catchy tune. A great arrangement and the lyrics evoke memories of being young.

I wasn't a teen in the 80s sadly but my band was offered a support slot with Culture Club at a big venue in the UK in the early 80s. We had to turn it down because our bass player was away on a trip. Maybe things would have been different if we had done it. Or maybe not....

Anyway, your song made me think of those days again when we were all a lot younger. You should definitely get Marco to join here  ;)

Ah, this is wonderful! Nice mix. Sounds very intimate. Really good vocals and harmonies.
