I've been listening to Jessie Colin Young lately.  His songs seem to have lots of imagery of beautiful sights and peaceful pleasant atmospheres.  We need more of that today of all times.  I'm so sick of hearing about the "virus".  I want to think on pleasant things again.  So, I got together a Bossa beat and some JCY style songwriting and imagery and came up with this tune.  The solo is a Chapman Stick courtesy of my Trilian Bass module.  Created in Cakewalk.

Gaze up at the moon tonight
Reflection in her eyes so bright
Something happens
Sunlight through the days so long
Inspiring a different song
Something really shows
No matter if it's day or night
Her warmth's so right
Fresher than the ocean's breeze delight

Can you hear the sweetest song
playing in the air so loud and strong?
Something happens
Thinking back on younger days
when the fragrant scent of peace decayed
It's so much better now
No matter if it's new or old
It's always gold
In the bright sunshine her love never grows cold

And if you need a rest
she'll give you her very best
A love that is more than a dream come true
You may not know it's all in her good time
But you'll see a difference in the way you have changed

Celebrating all the while
the pleasantries of love just make you smile
Something happens
Always there will be a sound as the melodies of love abound
Always in your heart
No matter if it's left or right, the sun shines bright
to illuminate a most amazing sight

No matter if it's black or white
It's such a pretty sight
To celebrate the gift of love tonight

Take a break from the virus and enjoy!

Wow this took me back. Its a glorious track and sounds like its straight from Arthur (The Movie)

I Love it!!!

Wow, incredibly impressive songwriting and arrangement John. This has a lovely joyful feel to it and I really appreciated the clever layering of instruments and all the nuances of the arrangement. It's a really enjoyable listen because there are so many depths in this to delight the ear. You handle those midi instruments very well, nothing sounds at all artificial, including the Chapman Stick solo (didn't expect to see those words on Songcrafters!).

The vocals are really good, I like the way you handle the subtle twists and turns of the song without losing pitch. A very enjoyable listen that works on many levels. Vert well done!

Love the change of pace and what a light feeling song this is well everything is blended and mixed to perfection

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Man, you are a class act. Absolute quality. Has a slight Donald Fagen 'Night Fly' album vibe - i.e. complicated, wonderful songwriting.

John, what a pleasure that was to listen to... I can relate to the Christopher Cross references... there is a touch of that in here. Fresh, lovely and you are right, it is so good to get away from the negativity. Great stuff.
