Hey everyone. Sooooooo, I had my guitar plugged into my cheap little Dell laptop (no good for multitracking..latency) and the sound routed through a program called Jeskola Buzz (surprisingly powerful, lightweight, free modular synth program) and stumbled upon a really cool repeater effect as I was playing with it. I couldn't help but record an MP3 of it and put it on the MBR to add to it.

I'm not crazy about the lead riff, it's a little sloppy and needs work but overall I am excited to have stumbled upon such a cool effect and thought I'd share the initial happy accident with everyone. I'm gonna be playing with this for some time I think!

That's definitely a cool effect. I can see all the possibilities this one opens up, so I can see why you're excited! Nice work. I think if it got slowed down, there would be some real prog / ambient landscapes to be had. Enjoy!!!!

Accidents are one of the best forms of music - repeatable ones are even better  :D.

Nice work! I can't wait to hear the finished piece!

It's amazing how a simple sound effect, a drum beat, a chord can inspire a new song. Happens to me all the time. I really like this, and I think once it's cleaned up a bit the guitar solo is gonna work splendidly. (yes, I just used the word splendidly  :)) just a thought, but perhaps add some drums half way through as it builds on itself.

Me likey!

Me want more!

Btw, where would I find that Jeskola Buzz program?

Cool stuff Joseph!  I love it.  The possibilities are endless aren't they?  I love the lead stuff in the back.  I imagine you looped the initial guitar part and played over it?  Great work!

I'm finally making my way to the Micro section here, and there sure is a lot of action in this place!  This forum is like the greater metro NYC area compared to the Arctic nature of BR-1600 Land.

So this is the first Micro piece I have decided to listen to and comment on.  Joseph, I see that you, too, are a brand new member.  This place is awesome -- energetic and extremely positive and supportive, as I'm sure you've already found.

As for this Happy Accident, first, I love the title, as it makes me think of Bob Ross and his Happy Trees.  The delay effect you found is cool, but more importantly, what you DID with it is very cool.  I can definitely see this being a fully fleshed-out song with low-key vocals, drums, a sweet bassline, etc.  It already has the blueprint of a great song.  Can't wait to hear the finished version.

Great work, man!
