Owing to a significant date, some proceeds from the flogging of redundant kit on t'interweb and a little bit of extra cash, I have have taken the plunge and ordered this little baby.

I've lusted after a Moog Mini for decades, and since they're still way up in the £2500's for a ropey example, I'd become resigned to my desire being unfulfiled.

Then Behringer brought out the Model D, a clone of the mini which got great reviews and I was sold...

...until I saw the PolyD!! The Mini on steroids! Not the mere three VCO's - oh no. this has four and it does four note paraphony. So a Moog Mini clone with additions, a synth with an analog signal chain, ladder filters and a keyboard for a fraction of the cost of a battered Moog.

It's arriving on Wednesday.

Wow, very cool! Behringer has been doing some great clones of old gear, I recently saw they did a clone of the old Wasp synth from the late 70s which the keyboard player in my band used...

This looks and sounds great, I am sure you are going to have fun with it. Wise move.....

This does look lovely. I would love one of those... even though I can't play keyboards but I wouldn't let that get in the way! If it sounds as good as it looks you are gonna have a lot of fun.

I love the sound of Moogs - I have been guilty of lusting after a model D! Enjoy this - I know they sound authentic.

This is an interesting synth. It's taken me a while to get my head around it.

It's sounds range from bloody awful to bloody wonderful, but I'm getting bloody wonderful by trial and error, I have no trouble in finding the bloody awful.

I'm really impressed with the build quality, the keybed is really quite nice, aftertouch is a little basic but no worse than my other keyboards. The knobs and switches have a good feel to them. I have still to get to grips with the sequencer and I'm struggling with Midi Clock, it seems to want to start the arpegiator whenever I apply the clock to it. Not sure why yet.

So far, I like it. I'm glad I went for the Poly rather than the modular D, it just looks fantastic.
