I only found one cover of this song, in 2013 by Funkyaxe.  (excellent)

Of course it's a RIP and tribute to this great soul singer who recently passed away Bill Withers

This song has been covered by an impressive number of singers (see wikipedia note in the scroll screen )

I was inspired by the version of Tracy Chapman and Buddy Guy (blues legend).

with my telecaster HB guitar (back track drums, bass, electric piano, brass ensemble are from BIAB)

A classic tune for sure..!

Nice work on your part..!!

Nice work JP, great version and love the lead guitar work.

Tracy Chapman is a name I have not heard for a long time. I used to enjoy her work a lot, so it's a good inspiration.

Nice on JP that HB telecaster sounds great.
I love the crystal clear recording of your vocal on this.
What recording gear are you using at the moment?
A great performance.

thank you guys

to answer Kenny Mac, I use Reaper, and for some time now the Wave CLA serie plug ins ..I haven't found anything better to finalize the voice in a very intiative and ergonomic way.

HERE a presentation of the plug ins

Lovely performance JP. Some great guitar work in there. Sure is a classic song, so many versions out ther testify to that. Your Tele sounds so sweet. Great tribute.

I must admit that I kind of have a big crush on your singing...I love the accent and your raw humility... and you really love music and that comes through very often...plus you play a whole bunch of different instruments....so wow on that...I would say this is a grand cover!
