Mum's wartime recipe

What is there to do after the first 10 minutes of self-isolation, self-isolation
20 minutes if I'm lucky, so very very lucky
20 minutes if I'm lucky, so very very lucky
well it's good for the chakras
So they say
So they say
Day 1 self-isolation 13 minutes

Zoom catch-up with the family
I can't get my webcam to work and no-one can see me but they can hear me
It's the Freudian mantra to my life
the Freudian mantra to my life
everyone's talking and I can see everyone
but they can't see me
they can't see me
Day 2 self-isolation 29 mins

Belly dancing tutorial on youtube today
but the room's so small I kept hitting the lampshade
I could do the hips and the arms but not the hips and the arms together
I looked like an octopus having an epileptic fit
Yes I looked like an octopus having an epileptic fit
So they say
So they say
Day 4 self-isolation 24 minutes – I couldn't quite get to the end of the 30 minute tutorial

Om (remember to breathe) mm
Meditated today today, for the first time felt a pressure around my ears,
then I remembered I'd got my headphones on
I remembered I'd got my headphones on
I was in the zone, so they say
So they say
Day 4 self-isolation 30 minutes – Day 3 is missing – well not a lot happened on day 3.

Mum's corned beef rissole recipe
from the war to eat today
and 3 sticks of celery
and a little bit of gravy, just a little bit of gravy
Well it makes everything taste so much better
It makes everything taste so much better
In mum's wartime recipe
Day 5 self-isolation – 29 minutes to cook the corned beef rissoles, minus the corned beef – well we didn't have any corned beef

I liked the humor in the music and the vocals Hilary and Ken. The 5 days of isolation made me grin and your Mum's wartime recipe (minus the corn beef, lol) was the perfect ending!

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

Love it. It's quirky but the lyrics have real satirical and literary depth - some amazing turns of phrase.

Such a fun listen, and a really interesting collaboration.

Needs a video - surely! Should be a hit.

Hehe... great stuff guys, that was fun. Enjoyed that, brought a smile to my face and we all need a bit more of that these days to lift the spirits.
