I do use the on board mics on the BR80 (which are really great mics) and I mostly use the small eq setting. I set my recording level quite high at about 75ish for the car and right around there for on a table or desk like this recording. I hardly even check my levels anymore when doing my live recordings, I just go to those settings and start.
