Tried to go all funky covid.
anyway
It is what it is.
Have you ever ever known
Has there ever ever been
Have you ever ever lived
In such strange times
I'm sure it's happened all before
Just not in my time
in my time
in our time
Long ago in days of yore
Just not in my time
In my time
In our time
Could you have ever guessed
Could you have even imagined
That we would be living
In such strange times
I'm sure we've all been here before
Just not in my time
in my time
in our time
Long ago in days of yore
Just not in my time
In my time
In our time
Could we have perhaps been prepared
For unforeseen circumstances
Ready to do what we have to do
In such strange times
I'm sure it's happened all before
Just not in my time
in my time
in our time
Long ago in days of yore
Just not in my time
In my time
In our time
Such Strange Times

Love it. Breezy but insistent. The bass line is amazing! Such a great song and delivery. Beautiful lines & melodies, man.

It's already lodged in my head.

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

Absolutely true.

We - I mean our actual generations - imagined we could have lived the whole of our life without a great disaster such as World War I and II, Spanish Flu and all the other plagues that have crossed our ancestors' life, and instead...

I like it, open and fresh, lovely chugga chugga guitars, nice.
We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different

Nobody saw this coming... so surreal. I think it has kind of been a bit of a wake up call to the world. We cannot take life and all the comforts most of us enjoy for granted. We are only human and the forces of nature are stronger than us when they wish to be.

Great song Jim

This is excellent Jim. A really good groove and a very catchy melody. Very nice instrumentation and great guitar sounds. I also really liked the nice wide stereo image in the production. As always, brilliant lyrics and very well sung.

You really hit the nail on the head. It has happened many times before through history, and many people saw this coming, especially after the Ebola outbreak. There's a great TedTalk from Bill Gates in 2015 warning that a flu-like pandemic was the greatest existential facing mankind in the forseeable future. But mankind is doomed to ignore the lessons of history, because we always do..... It seems new to us, even though it's happened before.
