The lyric is about a disturbing article I read in the news. It's about a bipolar, young man that committed suicide while away at college. As his peers, in a chat room, watched and no one called for help. A needless loss of life....

Last Day

(V1)
It was just, a teenage bi-polar day
But this one was really down
Nothing seemed to be working
There was no one to talk too and he's losing ground

Then an idea was born from a skewed thought
What if one could off themselves?
With the whole world watching
How cool would that be?
(V2)
All he needs is a connection to the net
A web cam and a stupid chat room
A private place, with a cozy bed
And an audience eager to see it happen

Maybe some benzo mixed with opiates
A handful should do the trick
And leave time to be saved
After all, no one's that sick

(Chr)
Well the joke is on you all
The moment of jest's no more
You wanted to see him fall
To the weight of a losing war

With no smile on your faces
Left are your cruel looks
You've tumbled out of graces
From the life that you all took

(Instrumental solos)

(Chr)
Well the joke is on you all
The moment of jest's no more
You wanted to see him fall
To the weight of a losing war

With no smile on your faces
Left are your cruel looks
You've tumbled out of graces
From the life that you all took

It was just a teenage bipolar day

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

I'm speechless.

We have come to expect really high quality work from you Farrell, however, this is out of the park. It's a superb piece of work. There's so much to like, the intro synths are lovely, the acoustic guitar and solid underpinning bass. Lovely drum programming, it sounds like you have a real drummer.

The vocals are so good, the harmonies are  great and really nicely mixed. And the electric guitar, well the whole thing rocks up and ah - it's bloody fabulous.

I think that you have surpassed yourself. This is going to be so hard to follow.

I love this track. This should be on the radio. And you should be making a fortune from it.

Oh wow.

This is just stunning stuff. A tragic story but a brilliant song all round.  Great playing and the production is way up there.

Awesome.

Wow, I can only agree with the others. This is stunning. A very compelling song based on a tragic story. It's almost prog in the twists and turns you have built into it. It's a very clever piece of songwriting. However, that doesn't get in the way of the storytelling at all, and this is a fabulous listen. The keys are very cleverly done and I loved the guitar solo towards the end. The vocals are especially good, you have a lot of sensitivity on the way you sing this and the vox fit beautifully into the mix.

A superb piece of work, well done!

Very powerful and a tragic story.  :'(   Your music reflects the dire atmosphere of the tale you're telling.  The chorus is especially powerful. Nice work.
For some reason the player cut it off abruptly about 1 minute short.  I had to download it to hear the rest.

Beautiful production can only agree with what's been said already ????

Yep, this is incredible. Almost a medieval melody to my ears (in places). It's fragile yet powerful prog. The shifting dynamics, the production, the vocal and the songwriting are all on another level. Absolutely stunning stuff! As Mike says, this should be reaching a much wider audience.
